No. Each Éphé piece is a digital impressionist painting, made to order from your photo and printed on archival fine art paper or canvas.
We're not a painting studio, not a photo printer, and not a filter you apply to your image. We're something different: digital impressionism, printed at museum quality.
What that means in practice:
- A digital impressionist painting. Every piece is created as a high-resolution digital painting in one of our four impressionist styles (Signature, Classic, Dreamy, or Modern). Brushwork, light, and color are built up the way an impressionist painter would build them, just digitally rather than with oil on canvas.
- Printed on archival materials. Once the painting is created, it's printed using giclée on museum-quality fine art paper or hand-stretched 400gsm artist-grade canvas. Water-based pigment inks rated for 200+ years. The same archival standards used by galleries and museums.
- Made to order in the United States. Every print and canvas is created uniquely for you after you place your order.
If you want a piece where a real Éphé artist shapes the image before it becomes art, our Studio Service does exactly that: a one-on-one consultation with an artist who can re-frame, extend, or combine photos before the painting is created. It's the closest thing to a traditional commission.
