Both are part of the Studio Service, but they're built for different kinds of projects.
Pre-made designs are curated designs our team has developed, and can be ordered directly from their product pages. You upload a photo, make a few structured choices (exactly what depends on the design), pick the print product you want, and an Éphé artist creates your piece. Pricing is the normal print product price plus a +$50 Studio Service fee, and the total includes a high-resolution digital download. This path is faster, more affordable, and ideal when the photo and design already feel close to the final vision.
Right now the only pre-made design available is the Custom Pastel Portrait, with more coming in different styles and formats over time.
Fully custom pieces are artist-led commissions that don't fit a pre-made design. You start with our custom request form or an email to hello@ephe.art, and we come back with a proposed approach and a custom quote, typically $100 to $150 depending on complexity. The quote covers the custom artwork and the high-resolution digital download, prints and canvases are ordered separately once your piece is finalized. This path is for pieces that need a human eye on the image before it becomes art: combining elements from multiple photos, extending the framing, removing distracting elements, or building toward a very specific composition.
Quick decision guide:
- Pick a pre-made design if the structured options fit what you want and your photo is already close to the final vision, and you want the print product bundled in.
- Pick fully custom if you need changes the structured options don't cover, or you'd like to work directly with an artist to shape the image.
